Drought in Kenya. Fr. Jonathan: «It is becoming unbearable. Children are forced to skip some class lessons»

The ongoing drought in Kenya, affecting areas of Samburu County in Sereolipi-Ndonyo Wasin villages is becoming unbearable. As a result of it, school going children are forced to skip some class lessons in order to fetch water for the school and for their needs. Church services are delayed for 2 hours in order to allow students fetch enough water. The distance to the nearest water point is far more than 7 kilometres. The community is also not spared. The Priest who comes to minister on sunday makes a journey of more than 40 kms every sunday and everytime he visits the villages, he carries with him jericans of water that he shares to the villagers.
