Jade mine: landslide kills over 100

It is not the first time. A landslide near a jade mine in northern Burma killed more than 100 people.

Globalwitness rights group valued Myanmar’s jade production in 2014 at as much as $31 billion (equivalent to 48 percent of Myanmar’s GDP). According Globalwitness rights group, jade mines are large companies, many of them owned by families of former generals, army companies, cronies and drug lords.
